What was my inspiration for Where Do Butterflies Go at Night? When I am working at my desk, I love looking out the 6′ tall window to my right. Every morning, I would watch an increasing amount of cabbage white butterflies dancing all over the privet hedge. As the day wore on and the light began to fade, they slowly disappeared, only to reappear the next morning. I wondered where they went. Then … I slipped into the mind of a child, and imagined so many magical possibilities. Before you know it, I was writing them down, and before you know it, I was writing a children’s book about where butterflies went at night.
